Building on our incredible success
in Ethiopia, Rise is thrilled to be
able to expand to neighboring
Kenya in 2026—strengthening
the efforts of local partners to
provide high-quality play-based
learning opportunities to underserved communities. Together
we can ensure children have the
academic and social-emotional
skills they need to thrive.
Rise’s programs have a long-term
impact on a child’s trajectory
Nine years ago, Kalkidan entered Rise Ethiopia’s early
childhood program as an unsure young child with significant
developmental delays.
At Rise, she found something transformative—a place
where teachers knew her name, celebrated her strengths,
encouraged her learning, and helped her build the
confidence she needed to thrive.
Today Kalkidan is in sixth grade, and her teacher describes
her as a “motivated, capable learner.” She still remembers
the connection and encouragement she received from
Rise—and will carry that with her throughout her life.
